Checkmate with rook and knight

A rook and a knight can make checkmate if they work together. How to do that, you will learn in this lesson.

This is a mate from close by.
The rook attacks the king and the knight protects the rook.
But that is not the knight’s only task!
The knight also removes the red escape square from the king.

This checkmate is called the Arabian mate.
